Nomenclatural History
The genus Ensifer was originally proposed and validly published by Casida 1982. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 84 in 2008. Young published an emended description of this genus in 2003. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Kuzmanović et al. in 2022. Judicial Commission of the International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Chen et al. 1988 emend. Kuzmanović et al. 2022 in 2008.
