Nomenclatural History

The species Ensifer xinjiangensis was originally described and validly published by Young 2003. Young formed this name in 2003 by placing the species
Sinorhizobium xinjiangense corrig. Chen et al. 1988
into the genus Ensifer Casida 1982 emend. Kuzmanović et al. 2022. Martens et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Ensifer fredii Young 2003 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 pro synon. Sinorhizobium fredii (Scholla and Elkan 1984) Chen et al. 1988 emend. De Lajudie et al. 1994
in 2008.
