Nomenclatural History
The species Sinorhizobium fredii was originally described and validly published by Chen et al. 1988. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 84 in 2008. De Lajudie et al. published an emended description of this species in 1994. Chen et al. formed this name in 1988 by placing the species Scholla and Elkan 1984 into the genus Chen et al. 1988 emend. Kuzmanović et al. 2022. Young established as an earlier homotypic synonym of Young 2003 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 pro synon. Sinorhizobium fredii (Scholla and Elkan 1984) Chen et al. 1988 emend. De Lajudie et al. 1994 in 2003.

The emendation by Kuzmanović et al. 2022 only declared the genome characteristics, which do not satisfy the requirements of a change in taxon characters.
