The species Sinorhizobium xinjiangense was originally described and validly published by Chen et al. 1988. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 84 in 2008. Euzéby corrected this name from (sic) to . In 2003, Young established as the basonym of (Chen et al. 1988) Young 2003 .
