Nomenclatural History
The species Bartonella quintana was originally described and validly published by Brenner et al. 1993. Brenner et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species (Schmincke 1917) Krieg 1961 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Strong et al. 1915 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Birtles et al. 1995.
