Proper Form
| Ochrobactrum Holmes et al. 1988 |
Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Ochrobactrum was originally proposed and validly published by Holmes et al. 1988. Hördt et al. transferred the members of this genus into
Brucella Meyer and Shaw 1920 emend. Brinley-Morgan and McCullough 1974 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2020.
Hördt et al. 2020 essentially unified the genus Ochrobactrum Holmes et al. 1988 into Brucella Meyer and Shaw 1920 emend. Brinley-Morgan and McCullough 1974 (Approved Lists 1980). However, prior to publication, one additional species Ochrobactrum teleogrylli Hu et al. 2020 was published. This species should be transferred into Brucella if the opinion of Hördt et al. 2020 is adopted.
