Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. The genus Phyllobacterium was originally proposed by Knösel 1962. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived by Knösel. Jurado et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2005. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Mantelin et al. in 2006 and Flores-Félix et al. in 2013.
