Nomenclatural History
The genus Aquamicrobium was originally proposed by Bambauer et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 66 in 1998. Lipski and Kämpfer published an emended description of this genus in 2012. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Wu et al. in 2014. Kämpfer et al. transferred the members of Fritsche et al. 1999 into this genus in 2009.
