Nomenclatural History
|
The species Methylosinus trichosporium was originally described by Wittenbury et al. 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Bowman et al.. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020.
