Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 48 in 1994. The species Oligotropha carboxidovorans was originally described by Meyer and Schlegel 1978. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived by Meyer et al.. In 2020, Hördt et al. established as the basonym of (Meyer et al. 1994) Hördt et al. 2020 .
