Nomenclatural History	The species Rhodopseudomonas acidophila was originally described by Pfennig 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 2001, Imhoff established Rhodopseudomonas acidophila as the basonym of Rhodoblastus acidophilus (Pfennig 1969) Imhoff 2001 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
