Nomenclatural History
The genus Hyphomicrobium was originally proposed by Stutzer and Hartleb 1899. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hirsch published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Xu et al. in 2021.
