Nomenclatural History

The genus Pedomicrobium was originally proposed by Aristovskaya 1961. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Gebers published an emended description of this genus in 1981. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Gebers and Beese in 1988.
