Nomenclatural History
The genus Microvirga was originally proposed and validly published by Kanso and Patel 2003. Zhang et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2009. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Weaon et al. in 2010, Ardley et al. in 2012 and Zhang et al. in 2019. Weaon et al. transferred the members of corrig. Takeda et al. 2004 into this genus in 2010.
