Nomenclatural History
The genus Burkholderia was originally proposed by Yabuuchi et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 45 in 1993. Gillis et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1995. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Sawana et al. in 2014 and Dobritsa and Samadpour in 2019.
