Nomenclatural History
The species Burkholderia cocovenenans was originally described and validly published by Gillis et al. 1995. Gillis et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species van Damme et al. 1960 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yabuuchi et al. 1993 emend. Dobritsa and Samadpour 2019. Coenye et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Severini 1913) Yabuuchi et al. 1993 in 1999.
