The species Burkholderia kururiensis was originally described and validly published by Zhang et al. 2000. In 2009, Anandham et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Zhang et al. 2000) Anandham et al. 2009 . In 2014, Sawana et al. established as the basonym of (Zhang et al. 2000) Sawana et al. 2015 .
