Nomenclatural History
The species Burkholderia mallei was originally described by Yabuuchi et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 45 in 1993. Yabuuchi et al. formed this name in 1992 by placing the species (Zopf 1885) Redfearn et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yabuuchi et al. 1993 emend. Dobritsa and Samadpour 2019.
