The species Burkholderia norimbergensis was originally described by Wittke et al. 1997. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 66 in 1998. In 2000, Coenye et al. established as the basonym of (Wittke et al. 1998) Coenye et al. 2000 .
