Nomenclatural History

The species Burkholderia phenazinium was originally described and validly published by Viallard et al. 1998. Viallard et al. formed this name in 1998 by placing the species
Pseudomonas phenazinium Bell and Turner 1973 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Burkholderia Yabuuchi et al. 1993 emend. Dobritsa and Samadpour 2019. In 2014, Sawana et al. established Burkholderia phenazinium as the basonym of
Paraburkholderia phenazinium (Bell and Turner 1973) Sawana et al. 2015
.
