Nomenclatural History
|
The species Ralstonia eutropha was originally described by Yabuuchi et al. 1995. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 57 in 1996. Yabuuchi et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species
Alcaligenes eutrophus Davis et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Ralstonia Yabuuchi et al. 1996. In 2004, Vaneechoutte et al. established Ralstonia eutropha as the basonym of
Wautersia eutropha (Davis et al. 1969) Vaneechoutte et al. 2004
. Vandamme and Coenye established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Cupriavidus necator Makkar and Casida 1987
in 2004.
