Nomenclatural History
The species Wautersia basilensis was originally described and validly published by Vaneechoutte et al. 2004. In 2004, Vandamme and Coenye established as the basonym of (Steinle et al. 1999) Vandamme and Coenye 2004 . Vaneechoutte et al. formed this name in 2004 by placing the species Steinle et al. 1999 emend. Goris et al. 2001 into the genus Vaneechoutte et al. 2004.
