Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Acidovorax avenae citrulli was originally described and validly published by Willems et al. 1992. Willems et al. formed this name in 1992 by placing the subspecies (Schaad et al. 1978) Hu et al. 1991 into the species (Manns 1909) Willems et al. 1992 emend. Schaad et al. 2008. Schaad et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Schaad et al. 1978) Schaad et al. 2009 in 2008.
