Nomenclatural History
The genus Lampropedia was originally proposed by Schroeter 1886. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Seeley published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Lee et al. in 2004 and Tripathi et al. in 2016.
