Nomenclatural History

The genus Eikenella was originally proposed by Jackson and Goodman 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Bernard et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2020. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hering et al. in 2021.
