Nomenclatural History
The species Prolinoborus fasciculus was originally described and validly published by Pot et al. 1992. Pot et al. formed this name in 1992 by placing the species Strength et al. 1976 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Pot et al. 1992.

It is proposed that the Judicial commission consider (1) that the strain currently deposited as CIP 103579 be recognized as a member of Acinetobacter lwoffii; (2) placing Prolinoborus fasciculus (Pot et al. 1992) on the list of rejected names if a suitable replacement strain, or a neotype strain cannot be found within 2 years of publication of this request; and (3) place the genus name Prolinoborus (Pot et al. 1992) on the list of rejected names [Recommendation 20D (3) of the Code].
