The species Simonsiella steedae was originally described by Kuhn and Gregory 1978. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 2005, Xie and Yokota established as the basonym of corrig. (Kuhn and Gregory 1979) Xie and Yokota 2005 .
