Nomenclatural History
The genus Azospira was originally proposed and validly published by Reinhold-Hurek and Hurek 2000. Bae et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2007. Tan and Reinhold-Hurek established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Achenbach et al. 2001 in 2003.
