The species Dechlorosoma suillum was originally described and validly published by Achenbach et al. 2001. Tan and Reinhold-Hurek established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Reinhold-Hurek and Hurek 2000 emend. Tan and Reinhold-Hurek 2003 in 2003.
