Nomenclatural History
The genus Zoogloea was originally proposed by Itzigsohn 1868. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Shin et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1993. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Dahal et al. in 2020.
