Nomenclatural History	The species Pfennigia purpurea was originally described and validly published by Tindall 1999. Tindall formed this name in 1999 by placing the species Amoebobacter purpureus Eichler and Pfennig 1989 into the genus Lamprocystis Schroeter 1886 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Imhoff 2001. In 2001, Imhoff established Pfennigia purpurea as the basonym of Lamprocystis purpurea (Eichler and Pfennig 1989) Imhoff 2001 .
