Nomenclatural History
The species Methanocorpusculum aggregans was originally described and validly published by Xun et al. 1989. Xun et al. formed this name in 1989 by placing the species Ollivier et al. 1985 into the genus Zellner et al. 1988 emend. Xun et al. 1989. Chong and Boone established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Zellner et al. 1988 in 2001.
