Nomenclatural History
The species Halorhodospira halochloris was originally described by Imhoff and Süling 1996. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 62 in 1997. Imhoff and Süling formed this name in 1996 by placing the species Imhoff and Trüper 1979 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Imhoff and Süling 1997 emend. Imhoff et al. 2022.
