Nomenclatural History
The genus Thialkalivibrio was originally proposed and validly published by Sorokin et al. 2001. List Editor corrected this name from (sic) to . Sorokin et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2002. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Banciu et al. in 2004.

This name became illegitimate upon publication of the minutes of the 2002 Paris meeting. Refer to Minute 13 8(ii).
