Nomenclatural History	The species Halothiobacillus neapolitanus was originally described and validly published by Kelly and Wood 2000. Boden published an emended description of this species in 2017. Kelly and Wood formed this name in 2000 by placing the species Thiobacillus neapolitanus Parker 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Halothiobacillus Kelly and Wood 2000 emend. Boden 2017.
