Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Francisella tularensis holarctica was originally described by Olsufjev et al. 1959. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1983 the name was revived and validly published by Olsufjev and Meshcheryakova.
