Nomenclatural History
The species Francisella philomiragia was originally described by Hollis et al. 1989. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 32 in 1990. Hollis et al. formed this name in 1989 by placing the species Jensen et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Dorofe'ev 1947 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Huber et al. 2010. In 2007, Mikalsen et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Jensen et al. 1969) Mikalsen et al. 2007 .
