Nomenclatural History
The species Thiomicrospira thyasirae was originally described by Wood and Kelly 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 53 in 1995. Boden et al. published an emended description of this species in 2017. Wood and Kelly formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Wood and Kelly 1995 into the genus Kuenen and Veldkamp 1972 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Boden et al. 2017.
