Nomenclatural History
|
The species Methylobacter agilis was originally described by Wittenbury et al. 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Bowman et al.. In 1995, Bowman et al. established Methylobacter agilis as the basonym of
Methylomicrobium agile (Bowman et al. 1993) Bowman et al. 1995
