Nomenclatural History
The species Methylobacter albus was originally described by Wittenbury et al. 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Bowman et al.. In 1995, Bowman et al. established as the basonym of (Bowman et al. 1993) Bowman et al. 1995 .
