Nomenclatural History

The species Methanohalobium evestigatum was originally described by Zhilina and Zavarzin 1987. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 24 in 1988. Euzéby corrected this name from Methanohalobium evestigatus (sic) to Methanohalobium evestigatum .
