Nomenclatural History	The species Methanohalophilus halophilus was originally described and validly published by Wilharm et al. 1991. Wilharm et al. formed this name in 1991 by placing the species Methanococcus halophilus Zhilina 1984 into the genus Methanohalophilus Paterek and Smith 1988 emend. Katayama et al. 2014.
