Nomenclatural History	The species Methanohalophilus oregonensis was originally described and validly published by Liu et al. 1990. Boone et al. corrected this name from Methanohalophilus oregonense (sic) to Methanohalophilus oregonensis . In 2001, Boone established Methanohalophilus oregonensis as the basonym of Methanolobus oregonensis (Liu et al. 1990) Boone 2002 .
