The species Alcanivorax jadensis was originally described and validly published by Fernández-Martínez et al. 2003. Fernández-Martínez et al. formed this name in 2003 by placing the species Bruns and Berthe-Corti 1999 into the genus Yakimov et al. 1998 emend. Fernández-Martínez et al. 2003.
