Nomenclatural History
The family Halomonadaceae was originally proposed by Franzmann et al. 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 29 in 1989. Dobson and Franzmann published an emended description of this family in 1996. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Ntougias et al. in 2007 and Ben Ali Gam et al. in 2007.
