Nomenclatural History	The species Halomonas halmophila was originally described by Franzmann et al. 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 29 in 1989. Dobson et al. published an emended description of this species in 1990. Franzmann et al. formed this name in 1988 by placing the species Flavobacterium halmophilum corrig. Elazari-Volcani 1940 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Halomonas Vreeland et al. 1980 emend. Dobson and Franzmann 1996.
