The species Halomonas halodurans was originally described and validly published by Hebert and Vreeland 1987. Romanenko et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Cobet et al. 1970) Arahal et al. 2002 emend. Romanenko et al. 2013 in 2013.
