The species Halomonas marisflavi was originally described and validly published by Yoon et al. 2001. List Editor corrected this name from Halomonas marisflavae (sic) to Halomonas marisflavi . In 2009, Sánchez-Porro et al. established Halomonas marisflavi as the basonym of
Kushneria marisflavi (Yoon et al. 2001) Sánchez-Porro et al. 2009
