Nomenclatural History

The species Carnimonas nigrificans was originally described and validly published by Garriga et al. 1998.
Tindall 2019 asserts that although the original nomenclatural type deposit was a patent strain, two additional deposits have been made, which satisfy Rule 30 of the ICNP. Therefore, this name continues to have standing in nomenclature.
