Nomenclatural History
The species Cobetia marina was originally described by Arahal et al. 2002. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 88 in 2002. Romanenko et al. published an emended description of this species in 2013. Arahal et al. formed this name in 2002 by placing the species (Cobet et al. 1970) Dobson and Franzmann 1996 into the genus Arahal et al. 2002 emend. Romanenko et al. 2013. Romanenko et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Hebert and Vreeland 1987 in 2013.
